The Divine Feminine is always there for you as intuition—but when you can’t hear these messages, it helps if you focus on a good question. That’s what our Ask the Goddess ritual (link) is for and, if you check the box that says “yes,” one of our Mooncircles goddesses—Simone Butler, Jessica Shepherd, or Jane Ellen—may offer their insights too in a future column.
Dear Flora, I've just completed a big project for work and am now wondering, “What’s next?” I have many possibilities, but am not sure which of these to focus on and which are actually real options. I’m feeling a little overwhelmed and uncertain about what direction to go in, but need to choose something in order to keep my income stable (I’m self-employed). Can you give me some insight on how to discern what the best choice is right now to further my goals and career? Marian
Dear Marian, Congratulations on the completion of your project! Sometimes when one thing is finished it can feel as if we are in a limbo zone and not know how to move forward. But as they say, “When one door closes, another opens”. But in your case, it seems as if you have several open doors to choose from, which as you said, can be overwhelming.
I’m not at all surprised that you do have some options to choose from, as Jupiter is currently moving through your 1st house, a once every 12 year cycle. Jupiter expands whatever it touches and as it has moved through your 1st house over the last 8 months or so, it is has been expanding not only your own awareness of who you are, but also other people’s awareness of who you are. Jupiter also brings new opportunities and possibilities into your life, so as Jupiter effects your first house, you may have opportunities to express yourself more fully in the world. But….always there seems to be a but right? Jupiter has been retrograde since early February, so you have been in a process of assessing who you are exactly and what opportunities really fit you, the you that you understand yourself to be that is right now. This is a time to reconnect with yourself, fine tuning your understanding of who you are and what you want. Jupiter goes direct on June 9, 2017 so it’s very likely that the clarity you seek will began to emerge at this time. But you can help move the process along, or at least feel more peaceful about it by using a couple of flower essences to facilitate greater understanding of what next steps to take.
First I recommend Dill, which as an herbal remedy helps you to physically digest food. As an energetic essence, Dill helps you to digest emotions, thoughts and experiences which may be causing a sort of psychic congestion in your energy field. Once you’ve cleared out the gunk from the past, if you are still uncertain about which direction to go, Scleranthus is the “go-to” essence for decision making. It can help you connect to your own inner voice, the voice that knows who you are, what you want and who you are becoming. This remedy will help you to take the steps you need to take to define yourself in the world and make the decisions that are in alignment with your soul’s purpose.
You may also want to do a bit of dream work on the evening Jupiter goes direct. A great way to tap into your inner truth is via the road of dreams. You can write down all the different opportunities you have been offered on a piece of paper and also the question: “which of these serves my highest purpose?” and then put that paper under your pillow and notice what you dream that evening. I have found this type of working to have very powerful results. If you don’t easily remember your dreams, you may want to work up to this exercise before June 9 by making an effort to write down even the smallest of dream snippets, or even just how you feel when you wake up, to stir your dreamer’s self and prepare it for your bigger question on June 9th. Good luck and may you make the decision that is best for you on every level!
