I have not had an intimate relationship in over 6 years. Can you tell me if some long term transit has influenced this lack or is it some personality trait? It’s also difficult for me to make lasting friendships as a single woman. In the past I have found that I have trouble balancing my creative drives with my romantic life in that one dominates while the other completely disappears (they take turns). Currently, I spend most of my free time painting, taking classes, going to art shows each month, etc. But I would like to have a relationship, too, so why can’t I meet someone new? Will that be possible for me in the near future? And will I be able to find some level of success in my artistic endeavors? Looking forward to your advice. I was born July 22, 1964. (TR)
Ouch, it is not easy to be on your own when your Sun is in Cancer in the 7th house of partnership along with your Venus/Mars conjunction, both of the relationship planets, and your north node of the Moon. Yet, it is clear why you have been alone for these last years and, yes, there are two long term transits at work in your relationship life and your self-awareness. Transiting Pluto has been nearing or conjunct your natal Moon, the planet of your feelings, needs, vulnerabilities, for the last 3-4 years as transiting Uranus also has been squaring your Capricorn Moon making it extremely unlikely that you would meet anyone or find any easy solutions to your emotional needs and any loneliness you may feel through anyone other than yourself. This has been the ideal time to spend painting, taking classes, going to art shows, all activities you choose for your own pleasure. If we use these challenging aspects to the Moon to get to know ourselves, to spend time with ourselves, to reflect on our lives and to grow within ourselves, who we will be, what we will be capable of and who/what we will attract after this time will be dramatically different and far more satisfying. Pluto’s transit to your Moon ended in late September and Uranus will complete its transit to your Moon in late January. 2014 is the most promising year for partnership that you have had in 5-10 years (your progressed Sun moving across your natal Uranus/Pluto conjunction along with the transits to your natal Moon). In the spring of 2014 transiting Jupiter, which is currently in your Cancer Sun sign, will reach your Sun in the 7th house, a truly positive signal for a new partner, and transiting Saturn is moving toward a trine to your Sun supporting and strengthening Jupiter. Notice that your Venus, the planet of creativity, is in your 7th house and rules your 10th house of career along with your 5th house of the artist making it challenging to balance these equally important arenas of your life. I think this time off from partnership getting to know yourself more deeply has been the necessary foundation for a more balanced life and relationship in your future.
I have a question in regards to how my love life has played out in the past 5 years or so. I was born August 8, 1982. I have read that Pluto has been “casting a fog” over my relationships, or lack thereof, and that this influence has meant that potential partners have been evasive. This feels incredibly true! If this is correct, how long will this fog continue to last? It hasn’t bothered me so much in the past but now I have noticed that more and more I want to be in a relationship. Thank you for your wonderful insights. (MM)
“Casting a fog” is the territory of Neptune not Pluto. Over the last 5 years I don’t see any significant Pluto transits to your natal planets though you have had transiting Neptune opposing your natal Mercury as it squared your natal Uranus but, more, importantly your 1st Saturn return ended in 2011. You would surely have felt the influence of your impending Saturn return for at least a year prior to its transit, the year of its transit and as Saturn continued to conjunct your 1st house Pluto in Libra, Jupiter in Scorpio and Mars in Scorpio in 2012. In Currently transiting Saturn is squaring your natal Sun. I suspect that the lack of relationships in your life over the last 5 years is a function of Saturn’s transits to 5 of your 10 natal planets, of Neptune’s transits to your natal Mercury square to Uranus and of your solar arc progressed Moon opposing your natal Pluto. Saturn would explain your experience of “lack” and Neptune your experience of “fog” and evasive circumstances.
By the end of November all of these aspects will be behind you opening up 2014 as a new chapter in your life. Transiting Jupiter at your Midheaven is bringing opportunity and success to your career life this fall and through 2014 and will conjunct your Venus, the planet of love and romance, in June of 2014 offering the potential for romantic love, career recognition and financial improvement. In addition to Jupiter’s stimulus to your Venus, transiting Saturn will trine your natal Venus in 2014 enhancing the potential of Jupiter’s favorable transits. While Jupiter and Saturn are likely to bring you a relationship, transiting Uranus moving into your 7th house of marriage in 2015 suggests that your relationship will grow and become a marriage in 2016 or 2017 if that is what you desire. I would suggest that you consider what you have learned about yourself, relationships, what you want and need in a relationship, what relationships mean to you and how you will integrate an important relationship with your 10th house Sun career focus. Note that your natal Saturn is in the sign of Libra, the sign of partnership and marriage, indicating the need for you to examine your family history and messages in relation to partnership, your own relationship experience and your expectations for your ideal relationship. With both Saturn and Pluto conjunct on your Libra Ascendant, your feelings, needs and behaviors, both conscious an unconscious, in relationships are complex and sometimes contradictory. Make sure you have learned and grown, met Saturn’s demands in these last years in order to take full advantage of the exciting opportunities ahead of you.
