This Moon shines the whole night long. It rises in the east at sunset and sets in the west at dawn. Always. Without fail. So now you know exactly where and when to find it. At sundown, pick your favorite eastern-facing spot and wait for this Moon to peek above the horizon. Like magic.
From Dana Gerhardt’s Moon Workshop
People who behave like werewolves now have been unconscious the past two weeks… if you’ve been walking with open eyes, this is the moment to relax in blissful meditation. If you walk all the way around the world, you’ll wind up right where you began. But you’ll be wiser, more rounded, more experienced. Each Full Moon represents that kind of circling and return. Your actions since the New Moon have hopefully shown you a few things. About yourself, about the world. Now the results of your efforts will reveal even more. The Full Moon is a moment of ripening. Your work bears fruit. So put your energy into a good finish. If you like what you see, enjoy. If you don’t like what you see, think about it. But don’t be like those crazed unconscious ones, pulled apart with the Sun/Moon opposition, unsteady and unwise. See, if like the Moon herself, you can hold all the light. Plan a meditative sit if you can, when the Full Moon rises in the east after sundown. This phase is like a monthly autumn; only a few fresh starts are undertaken now. You reap your harvest, shift to a more introspective mode, plan for the next New Moon leap.
This Moon’s gift is Transcendence.
You’ve been incubating, filled with positive expectancy these past two weeks. Now you may feel a hunger that can only be satisfied by a divine visitation. Just after sunset, find a secluded spot with a view of the eastern horizon, and watch the Full Moon rise. Become clear as a mirror, still as a mountain lake. A calm, centered mind can hear remarkable insights now.
Its foundation element is Air.
What is moving in the air? Sense the atmosphere. And breathe… open windows, listen to music, stimulate your soul with natural scents that ride on the air. Enlightened thoughts are in the wind. First let your mind empty. Then let it soar.
What do you most need to learn this phase?
Watch. Listen. What are current circumstances telling you? You may find answers to big questions in the mirror that others provide. Your enlightened mind is so much bigger—it’s capable of so much more awareness—than that little chattering mind of ego-sized concerns. Learn how easy it is to be untroubled and vast.
Are you touching the Moon? It’s one thing to read about the Moon, but another to tune into her with energetic sensitivity. The first method is mental; the second is sensuous and intuitive (which is of course the preferred way to grasp the Moon). Dana’s Moon Workshop can support you in developing an exciting, organic relationship with the Moon.
