As someone who walks the path of the Goddess, I’m often asked about different ways of connecting with the Divine Feminine. In some ways this questions reflects the degree of disconnection so many feel from the feminine, because in essence it is everywhere and in all things. It is life itself – which is why I tend to refer to the Goddess as the Lady of Life. With our human species and throughout nature, the masculine and feminine come together to create life; but life is nurtured by, and emerges from, the feminine.
We live at a pivotal time of transformation between one evolutionary cycle and the next. The previous cycle has been strongly characterized by patriarchy, materialism, the subjugation of nature, and the isolation of the individual within the limited perspective of rational thought. This has been a necessary part of our evolution, but we have reached its farthest extent as it has become destructive to us and our environment. We are now transitioning into a cycle of greater spiritual awareness and universal consciousness, but in order to reach it the feminine must be reintegrated. The next few decades or even centuries are likely to emphasize the feminine to balance out the last cycle and heal the schism it has created.
So its no wonder we see a backlash currently in this society against women, nature and non-institutional spirituality. We are also seeing a very powerful re-emergence of the Divine Feminine in the rising up of women, a renewed interest in the Goddess, nature spirituality. and sustainable ways of living. However, true lasting transformation is effected from within. This world, as modern physics, is beginning to confirm is a reflection of consciousness. Ultimately it is our consciousness that is evolving to a new level or higher vibration. All the difficulty we are currently experiencing can be used to effect this elevation in consciousness if we see the opportunity in it and know how to use it.
Many find it incredibly helpful for our personal process of transformation to intentionally connect with the Goddess in whatever forms we feel most drawn to. It may be honoring the cycles of the moon, communing with nature, or getting more fully in touch with our creativity. For me, the Goddess guides my spiritual path and directs the course of my life. I find surrender to Her to be incredibly freeing and balancing, because as a man, I find my masculine power greatly enhanced from being grounded in the feminine. Part of this for me is honoring women through worship and service. Worship in this context means “to hold sacred.” In ancient cultures women were seen as sacred for their deep wisdom, life bearing power and intuitive connection with spirit. In women I see the face of the Goddess beautifully represented, and so in serving them, I serve Her.
There are an infinite number of ways to connect with the Goddess or Divine Feminine. We’ve only to follow our hearts and the Lady of Life will embrace us and show us our true nature. She will guide us also on an incredible life journey of fulfillment and creativity if we have the courage to surrender to Her and live fearlessly as warriors of the heart. This in my view is the challenge of these transformative times. May the Lady bless your journey always!

Hello Colin,
I enjoyed your article very much. You and I met, briefly, at Pymander a long time ago when I was working with your mother. I am glad to see you spreading the wisdom of *the* Mother. As a man with admittedly more feminine traits than masculine, I have been doing much the same for a long time. I look forward to reading through your blog!

All very well spoken, and thank you for your insights and observations.
I particularly enjoyed the statement:
“I find surrender to Her to be incredibly freeing and balancing, because as a man, I find my masculine power greatly enhanced from being grounded in the feminine.”
I’ve experienced a small taste of this, and the nectar nourishes exactly as you say! It is my belief that through this sacred embrace we can awaken from within rather than being guided by externalities.
