Your happiness is the spark that will ignite global change.” –Ross Arntson
Rarely do the stars align in such a way that it makes my jaw drop. But we’re entering such a period now, in which one potent point of the zodiac will be activated so strongly and repeatedly that an important message is obviously trying to get through. This message seems to be about shifting from the head to the heart, and doing whatever we can to save this planet before it is too late.
It really looks like we are on shaky ground at this point in our history, a “sixth massive extinction” not seen since the time of the dinosaurs. This warning comes not only from science, but also from non-physical intelligence like the Hathors, channeled by Tom Kenyon, who have an ingenious plan for awakening by partnering with angelic forces in specific, targeted ways.
So it’s not surprising that the heavens reveal a uniquely fascinating window of time over the next few months. First, a little context. Around 26,000 years ago, women ruled the world. The role of the man in procreation was not yet known, so a woman’s ability to give birth made her all-powerful – the Goddess incarnate. At that time, the fixed star Regulus was transiting the sign of Virgo – the ‘virgin’ goddess Queen who is whole unto herself. As the only fixed star on the ecliptic, Regulus profoundly influences what happens on earth.
Around the time of Christ, Regulus shifted into Leo, a masculine sign, and became known as the “Little King.” But in 2011, Regulus re-entered Virgo – once again bringing feminine energy into prominence (for the next two thousand years). This is why we’ve been seeing women rising to power in the world, and claiming power at home and in relationships. We still have a long way to go before all our hearts are awakened (the goal of the feminine), but many of us are beginning to feel this happen.
Over the next few months, there will be FIVE activations of Regulus at zero Virgo – jolting and juicing us to accept and honor our feelings and love more authentically – and to take action on healing our beleaguered Earth. First, and most profound, is the July 25 retrograde station at zero Virgo of Venus, planet of love and the feminine. Anytime a planet stations, it exerts tremendous influence. Here, Venus is calling us to reclaim our inner Queen – the most confident, regal part of us. Venus in backward mode (through Sept. 6) is a time of honoring the feminine, remembering our worth and loving ourselves and others more deeply. It can also bring former lovers and desires back into our lives. Venus spends most of her retrograde in Leo the King, but begins and ends her sojourn in Virgo the Queen. So Venus is reweaving the ecstatic bonds between the divine masculine and feminine, within and without.
Regulus at zero Virgo will then be triggered in rapid succession by Mercury on August 7, Jupiter on August 12, Mars on Sept. 26, then again by Venus October 8. If you have planets or angles around zero Virgo, get ready for the ride of a lifetime! Even if you don’t, whatever house that degree falls in for you is being saturated with the energy of love and healing – so open yourself to it. Be alert on or near these activation dates for an influx of energy and guidance.
Ushering in this potent period is the Cancer New Moon (July 15, 6:24 pm PDT). Cancer is, of course, the sign of the Mother. As the Sun and Moon unite in this emotionally sensitive sign, Mercury and Mars also join in Cancer, exactly opposing Pluto. Something important wants to be birthed, spoken aloud and claimed at this New Moon. Pluto and Mars were also featured at the July 1 Full Moon – and many of us are still reeling from what transpired around then, which caused our hearts to crack open (whether through loss, joy, or both). As this New Moon approaches, remember that to feel intensely is not a sign of weakness – it’s what makes us human. We’re taking the first tentative steps toward a deeper kind of love and devotion to self, others, and our Earth Mother.
This is a good time to contact your ancestors for guidance. Check out this Cancer New Moon ritual from my book, Astro Feng Shui: Making Magic in Your Home and Life. You’ll also find a short video that shows how I helped one person transform her Family gua for greater closeness with relatives.

Glad the essay was helpful, Deborah! It sounds like your garden is trying to tell you something – slow down and enjoy the process of what you’ve committed to, take small steps rather than placing a big burden on your shoulders. Your goal is a worthy one, and I’m sure you’ll accomplish it a little at a time. Good luck!

Simone, I found this article so helpful. I was born, I’m told, under Regulus..Aug, 24, 1941, Akron, Ohio. I am author on two books – one about dying at home and the newest Lighten Up, Seven Ways to Kick the Suffering Habit. After returning mid May from a very expensive media summit in NYC (like I’ll be paying it off for months) I have felt paralyzed to contact the 65 media people I met there. I’d sit down to write letters and emails. ..and wander instead into my garden and work with my gorgeous plants and flowers. Stalling, stalling….my commitment to self is to instigate a national conversation about suffering as a habit or addiction…I believe the American culture is addicted to it. And we can’t change something we’re not aware. My motive is I’d like to see more people enjoy being alive…. more laughing heroes to journey with. Sometimes I feel fearful that I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. Any thoughts you care to share.

Thanks Kathleen. And what a great point you make – we need to stay focused on those moments and acts of conscious healing!

I always appreciate your insights Simone. And I find it interesting that a women governor and congresswoman both help to bring about the removal of the confederate flag a symbol of slavery and segregation in the South. There are many wonderful moments of conscious healing happening amidst the tragedies of these times.

Oh wow Patricia – this is going to be a super-important series of activations for you!! You must report back later as to what transpired. 🙂 And yes it seemed really crucial info to me, although for once, I don’t see any other astrologers making note of it!!

Thank you Simone for imparting this profound information in your column. As a Cancer Sun, Mercury & Venus in the 12th house with Virgo 1 deg in the 1st, this information reached me on numerous levels. I appreciate you.
