Scorpio New Moon: Meeting Your Spirit Guide

Scorpio guides our relationship with the “other side”—the invisible realms hidden from ordinary view. The soul’s journey through Scorpio takes us down into the underworld, then lifts us into a new, more evolved way of being. That’s the transformation symbolized by Scorpio’s mythical phoenix.

No one is ever asked to make this journey alone. Each of us is accompanied by a personal spirit guide.

Because tradition holds that this is the time of year when the veil between worlds grows thin, the Scorpio New Moon is especially auspicious for reconnecting with your spirit guide.

The Presence Beside You

Every soul is granted one or more invisible guardians to accompany its passage through life: an angel, daimon, spirit animal, or saint.

Socrates had his daimon, who whispered wisdom in his ear. The oracle of Delphi listened to the breath of a powerful serpent. Native Americans have long honored animal spirits. And in every sacred tradition, angels hover nearby. Even nature spirits are said to watch over mountains, trees, lakes, and streams.

Preparing for the Encounter

To connect with your spirit guide, begin by sitting in a quiet, sacred space—perhaps before your altar. Light a candle or a stick of incense to signal your intention to enter the otherworld.

Next, imagine a circle of protection surrounding you. Feel how it holds you, keeping you safe and gently separating you from the ordinary world.

Then, using only the sincerity of your heart and your own words, say a prayer or invocation to summon the presence of your guide—even if you don’t yet know what form they might take.

Meeting Spirit with Imagination and Presence

Now, simply sit in silence. As the quiet deepens, sense the veil beginning to lift between this world and the world of the Invisibles. Wait patiently, as you would for a guest.

Feel for a subtle shift in the air: a thickening, a warmth, a sudden lightness. Something about this presence touches your heart. It speaks to you without words, yet you feel known.

Let yourself rest in this feeling. Then, allow an image to begin forming in your inner vision. See and sense what arises.

Your spirit guide may appear as a familiar figure—a beloved prophet, a wise priestess, a radiant shaman, a Sufi dervish, a mythic god or goddess. Or they may come as someone entirely new: luminous and otherworldly, or simple and human.

You might see only a fuzzy outline. That’s fine. Let it be.

Watch that your thinking mind doesn’t interrupt. Whatever arises, trust your imagination. Accept it with quiet reverence.

Receiving Guidance

Once the image is clear, imagine this being takes your hand. Looking into your eyes, your guide offers you the deepest truth: You are never alone. No matter the hardship, you are held and accompanied.

Then your guide offers a gift—an insight, a message, an answer to the longing in your heart.

After a few moments in this quiet communion, let your hands release. You and your guide bow in farewell.

As the spirit melts back into the realm of the Invisibles, offer a final prayer of gratitude—for the loving support that surrounds you always.
