From the “Moon Lovers” series
by Dana Gerhardt
Put fresh bird seed in a feeder and wait. Within an hour, maybe a day, you’ll discover one lone bird pecking happily at the plentiful seed. An hour later there will be twenty more, fighting to get at the perch. Why doesn’t the first bird keep her cache a secret? Ask yourself the same today as you rush out to tell the news. You’re itchy to connect and talk on a Gemini Moon. If you resolve to quietly breathe, you’ll hear what others can’t suppress. It’s a dry air day: good for hanging curtains, airing out rugs. Bring flowers into the house; plant your vines. Check the world mood. It could be hectic, changeable, capricious. To keep stress from going into your shoulders, arms or hands, think “my limbs are long and supple, ” sending your breath there to create more space. Then, feeling loose and free, join with the day’s ping pong of energy and discover a new life direction. Listen for a sudden inspiration where you’ve been stuck. On a Gemini moon long ago a sailor found himself in high winds and choppy water, his boat tossing like a toy. The day’s turbulence called forth his fear and his faith. Zeus sent his Gemini sons, Castor and Pollux to help. They flashed twin beams of light, directing the sailor to safety. You never know when help will come. Faith is most precious when there’s no reason for it, when it’s just an idea you send into the turbulent air. Watch the sky for signs.

More Gemini Strategies
by Simone Butler
When Luna flies through Gemini, it feels like time is moving faster than usual. Expect a greater number of phone calls, emails and requests you must respond to. Although you may feel a bit scattered, your brain will be firing on all cylinders and you can get a lot done in a short amount of time. Just remember to set aside downtime – this busy Moon can easily wear you out! Watch for brilliant ideas from out of the blue. Are you touching the Moon?
It’s one thing to read about the Moon, but another to tune into her with energetic sensitivity. The first method is mental; the second is sensuous and intuitive (which is of course the preferred way to grasp the Moon). Lunar intuition is a natural ability that can be developed with practice. Developing mine, I was inspired by a friend’s report of spending an idyllic summer in the forest. Nestled in nature, without the chaos of the competing mechanical rhythms, her sensitivity became so refined, she felt it whenever the Moon changed signs.
Nature is everywhere. Even in our concrete and cyber jungles, we can sense her influence. At least once with the Moon in this sign, give yourself a 15-minute luxury of stillness. Quiet your thoughts. Observe the energy—how are things moving? Tune into the texture of the atmosphere floating around you. Feel its sensation on your skin. Describe what you feel, even if it’s so subtle you think you’re making it up. Over time your sensitivity and discernment will increase. In a month, you sense this sign again.
An air sign Moon, key qualities for Gemini are hot and moist. Think of a rain forest, teeming with activity, ripe with odors, its green forest leaves busily returning oxygen to the air. When moisture meets heat, there is movement. Think of blood circulating through your veins, air moving in and out of your lungs, sound and scents traveling on the wind. Air sign days feel lighter than other days; fresh, alive, in motion. Your eyes may be drawn skyward, to the flight of a bird, leaves rustling in the wind. Your thoughts may be nimble or restless. Train your senses on movement.
“The shoulders, arms, and hands, as well as the lungs together with the bronchial tubes, are assigned to Gemini. The hands deal with what we take on and really carry out, but also with what we grasp. The key phrase of Gemini is: “I think.” This concerns the cerebral work of thinking and of intellectual work. Therefore the health and well-being of Gemini depend especially on how well head and hand—or theory and practice—agree.” ~ Sabine Heideweg
