Ask the Oracle – May 28, 2014

By Julia Bondi

My birthdate is January 31, 1985. Though on the surface my everyday life is not dramatic, in the last few months, I have been dwelling a lot on the purpose of my adult life especially since in 2 months I will finish my intensive studies which have kept me very occupied. One part of me wants to continue research and higher studies but the other part wants to devote myself to creative entrepreneurship and to writing which has been my first love since I was a child. I have absolutely no idea of business and though I am passionate about working on creative endeavors myself with other people and with businesses, I am uncertain how it will go if I plunge into this field. Also, my partner (born March 16 1979) and I are thinking of marrying and slowly starting a family but we have some challenges facing us due to the multicultural nature of my relationship, our hearts split between our families on two different continents. We are having difficulty realizing whether we should settle down in the countryside (nature being very dear to us) or in a city (I love cultural cities but cities tire us both emotionally). There remains the question of job prospects for me and the question of my being lonely in a new region. And, can I find a balance between my professional and creative aspirations in addition to my desire for a family and home. Please advise and thanks for spreading the message of love and the moon. (SK)

So many air signs (Sun in Aquarius, Moon/Ascendant in Gemini), so many questions, so many choices. Yet, your questions are all important ones you must answer in order to move forward with your life. It is natural for air signs to continually present themselves with choices, to need choices and to have great difficulty making choices. Making this choice negates that choice. Despite your air Sun, Moon and Ascendant, you have 3 planets in Capricorn (Mercury, Jupiter, and Neptune) insisting that you do make a choice in each of these areas, choices that will launch the life you will be proud to live. With 4 planets in water signs (Venus and Mars in Pisces and Saturn and Pluto in Scorpio), you will not be happy or productive if you choose something that does not feel right for you. Your 9th house Sun, Mercury and Jupiter all direct you to a career that is more aligned with your spirit/heart than with your practical side. Mercury is your chart ruler with Gemini rising, strengthened by its conjunction with your Jupiter, all in the 9th house. It is no wonder your partner is from a foreign country and culture with your 7th house ruler in your 9th house of foreign countries. I think you would benefit from living in his country if you could see your family often enough, which is clear from your strong 9th house of international life versus your less dominant 4th house of country of origin. Looking at your Taurus north node of the Moon in the 12th house, I suspect that you would be most creative and happy in a countryside location. Taurus rules nature and the 12th house needs quiet, contemplative, restorative time and surroundings, however, it is important to be near enough to a city to satisfy your air sign authentic need for stimulation, culture and fun. Your Pisces partner is likely the love of your life that will fulfill your Venus/Mars conjunction in Pisces desire for a deep, spiritually connected love. You are facing the life purpose lesson/challenge of your Aquarian Sun – to be your authentic self, to individualize from your family/culture/home and risk expanding your life in ways and areas that will force you to know your true self rather than your conditioned self. This is not easy but it is what is asked from an Aquarian life if one is focused on development as you are and would be with your 9th house ruler guiding you. Professionally, your well aspected Mercury which rules your chart, disposits your Moon, conjuncts your Jupiter, sextiles your Venus/Mars/Saturn is the explanation for your childhood love of writing and your desire to continue your studies. You will soon be experiencing your Saturn return when you will want to begin your life, your work, your career and soon your family. It is time to make these choices and you will. If you can continue to study, achieve a higher degree and, perhaps, teach and write, this could be a wonderful life for your mind, your coming family and would leave you the time to contribute to a creative business venture or two. As transiting Neptune completes its 2 year square to your Moon, you will begin to make the choices that will shape your future. Have faith in an ever bigger life.

I was born August 27, 1977. At the end of my Saturn return, my ex of 7 years and I broke up. It was a very painful break up. It also began a period of time in which I lost a best friend to death, had a spinal injury which caused me to be bedridden for 2 years, incurred massive medical debt, the closing of my company, and then having to restart my career in the middle of the economic downturn. I am 6 years out of the worst of this time period and I was just hired at a large corporation so I am now making very good money in a career I love. My health is back on track and I am finally able to get my own home again. But the area of my life that is still suffering is my love life. I am getting closer to 40 and do not have the family I always thought I would have. In the last 8 months my first love and significant ex have both come back into my life. I have not let either of them get very close but I am starting to lose faith that I will find someone who wants to settle down with me and have a family. Am I destined to be the crazy cat lady who is forever single? Thanks for all your help. (EM)

Oh my, what a challenging Saturn return you endured as your 1st Saturn return occurred when>  transiting Saturn was conjuncting your Sun, transiting Neptune was opposing your natal Saturn, transiting Uranus was opposing your natal Mercury and transiting Pluto was quincunxing your Venus as it opposed your natal Mars! No wonder your entire life was turned upside down in such a painful way. The strength and resilience of your natal Saturn conjunct your IC opposing your MC held you steady as you healed and re-invented your life. Sure, you have an Aquarius Moon so a little crazy (you being the true you kind of crazy) is natural and advantageous but, no, you are not destined to be the crazy cat lady who is forever single unless you want to be. Note that your 7th house of marriage and partnership is ruled by Jupiter which has already offered you significant relationships in the past, those loves have now reappeared and you will have other choices as well. Jupiter brings opportunity and more than one or two opportunities wherever it is placed or rules in one’s chart. Your 4th house Sun and Mercury (Mercury being your chart ruler) emphasizes your genuine desire for and destiny to achieve a home (you have one again) and a committed, stable family life (soon to be in your life). Your north node of the Moon in the 5th house of children confirms your desire to have children and your soul’s intention to bring children into the world. Now that your life is back on track, the question is when and who? Last summer was your Jupiter return which has expanded your life and renewed the promise of your life including bringing back previous relationships. I don’t have any astrological data on your past loves but Jupiter in Cancer could indicate a return to an old relationship if your past loves have genuinely grown and changed as you have. The Moon disposits your 7th house ruler making it very relevant for your relationship timing – your progressed Moon will emerge from the 12th house in 7 months, conjunct your Ascendant which is also the relationship angle and conjunct your 7th house ruler in 18 months as transiting Jupiter moves to an opposition to your natal Moon this fall and next spring. It is time for this final piece of your life to get on track.

m  Conjunction:  Like peas in a pod, planets in conjunction tend to come from the same place. They act together, but it’s also hard to tell them apart. This aspect can increase talent, focus, and intensity (“two are better than one”). Or one planet can disappear as the other dominates. Their connection feels so natural, it’s easy to think everyone blends these planetary energies just as you do—but mostly, they don’t!.

p  Sextile:  Planets in sextile are compatible, though without any fireworks. This aspect doesn’t demand your attention. It quietly presents an opportunity. You can join these archetypal forces. Donna Cunningham has called this the “Oh, that!” aspect, because that’s generally what her clients say when she describes their benefits.  To get the most from sextiles you need to actively work them.

q  Square:  Squares are wild and wonderful—but difficult too. The power struggle between these planets was likely defined in your youth, when they were impossibly challenging. People are usually aware of their squares. They force the issues that make you to grow. And that’s their gift. They ensure you learn your lessons. When you rise to the occasion, they bless you with energy, action, and success.

r  Trine:  Michael Munkasey has dubbed this the “goddess aspect” because it’s so lovely. Identifying talents you may have perfected in a previous life, trines can bring you joy. There’s a nice flow of energy between planets in trine. They support and reinforce each another. But without any struggle, you might take them for granted—neither using nor developing their gifts. An unattended trine can sometimes trick you into negative behaviors.

t  Inconjunct/Quincunx:  Your quincunx planets are innately incompatible. Bringing them into harmonious expression requires constant adjustments. This can be stressful, also motivating. You’ve got to keep changing your process, opinions or attitude—which promotes highly creative solutions.

u  Opposition:  They say opposites attract—and planets in opposition are never far from each other, though they’re constantly bickering. You may be triggered into awareness of this aspect by other people who seem to resist or undermine you.  An opposition can make you feel uncertain, insecure, or discontent, until you can accept and see yourself in both energies. Typically people find it easier to identify with one side and project the other onto unsuspecting others in the outer world.
