I was born December 18, 1968. I am seeking your guidance as I am experiencing a crisis with regards to my career and a felt sense of disconnection from my life path/purpose. I was made redundant from my last job at the end of 2011. At that point, I returned to university to finish a degree in counseling. Since completing the degree, I have found it difficult to find a meaningful new role and am teetering between “trusting that the right thing will emerge at the right time” and despairing about my lack of prospects and diminishing finances. The Full Moon in Pisces on September 19th is conjunct my natal Chiron in the 9th house. It’s evoking lots of spiritual and philosophical questions for me right now! I’d appreciate an insight you may provide. Many thanks. (SF)
trust versus despair; the inner world of faith versus the outer world of reality. These are some of the philosophical, spiritual questions you are exploring as Uranus continues its transit of your 9th house and, of course, you are a Sagittarius Sun for whom these questions are natural and your purpose in this life. Your previous job was made redundant as your solar arc progressed Mars, ruler of your career house, conjuncted your natal Moon and transiting Saturn conjuncted your natal Mars; it was time to go and it was time to focus on your Moon/feelings/intuitive skills as you have chosen to do in your counseling work. Planets on the MC/IC axis (your Saturn conjunct your MC and your Mars, ruler of your 10th conjunct your IC) indicate you are naturally able to provide clients with the nurturing of a supportive mother along with the guidance and strength of a wise father. Cancer rising describes your caring, intuitive, insightful and trust inspiring persona. Certainly, you have the natural skills and now the degree to become a successful counselor. Now, when will you have the opportunity? At the next Full Moon, the Moon will be in Aries at 25 degrees conjuncting your Midheaven and opposing your natal Mars as transiting Jupiter (fortune and potential) trines your progressed Mars providing an opportunity for a job though it may be a starting position that can develop over the next year as your progressed Mars completes its current quincunx to your natal Saturn. I would recommend being willing to take a position that may initially be a bit less than you desire or is commensurate with your degree and life experience due to your current transits while knowing that transiting Uranus will conjunct your Midheaven in 2016. Jupiter’s transit over your Ascendant this past summer has opened a new chapter in your life which will be ever more exciting as Uranus moves to your MC, Jupiter moves to your IC, and Saturn moves into your Sun sign in 2016. Trust will deliver your job as soon as October or early next year as Mars retrogrades near your natal Mars.
Don’t know what my problem is, I just feel so stuck! I have a lot of ideas but just seem paralyzed! I don’t know what is wrong with me! I don’t feel depressed but can’t seem to move forward in any direction. I procrastinate about everything and seem to have to set a definite goal or meeting to produce anything. Every morning I tell myself I will accomplish something but just end up reading, procrastinating and doing nothing. This is so unlike me. I’m in a major rut and can’t seem to snap out of it! I feel like a waste! My birth data is March 24, 1961. (TB)
Fortunately your chart describes exactly what you are feeling, why you are feeling the way you are and what you can do in response to these very unsettling feelings and behaviors. Transiting Pluto is opposing your natal Moon/Mars conjunction in your 12th house this year and next year while transiting Uranus is squaring your natal Moon/Mars conjunction. From this time forward you are not the same person you were; you will not be able to motivate yourself in the ways you have in the past; and you will soon accomplish more than you ever have in the past. This is an extraordinary time of change, renewal, and discovery (the territory of Uranus) and of transformation, emergence and initiation into your deepest, truest self (the territory of Pluto). Your Moon is your chart ruler governing everything in you and in your life, all of which is undergoing this transformation. Since the Moon is our emotions, our needs, our memories, our family, our deepest vulnerabilities/anxieties, feeling stuck now is is quite understandable. Mars is our desire to act, to achieve, our motivation, our energy level and for a man, his masculine ego/self esteem. This is “unlike” you but that is the old you while the transformed you will motivate yourself differently, choose what you will accomplish differently and succeed in different ways for different reasons. With both Mars and your Moon in your 12th house, any pressure you place on yourself to “snap out of it” and just get busy or productive will fail and should fail. During this period you need time to read, do nothing, dig deep into yourself, reflect, listen to your inner voice/intuition and to find your soul’s guidance for this next stage of your life. The more dedicated, unstructured time you create when you open yourself to quiet, listening, exploration, or just being, the more quickly you will begin to know how to proceed and the less you will feel stuck. Mars does rule your Midheaven or career angle suggesting that this time of transformation will either lead to a complete restructuring of your career, a very different career or a far more conscious understanding of purpose for your career after which you will be more energetic and productive than you were before this initiation. I don’t know if you have a spiritual practice, a therapist or if you believe in humans as soulful beings with a purpose/destiny in life but I do know this is the time when you must seek whatever knowing/belief/understanding will support your development into this “new you”.
