Ask the Oracle – December 24, 2011

By Julia Bondi

Hi! I am born October 24, 1961. My life has always felt like a struggle, being on an emotional roller coaster forever and never finding my place in this world. I feel I never make the right choices. And here at 50 years old, I am more lost than ever and in an existential crisis again. I feel like a total failure whose life has been a waste. I believe I had great potential talents and gifts (creative, healing and intuitive) but never seemed to be able to express them to their fullest. And with age, I am losing all hope to realize anything. Feel stuck! Is there something wrong in my chart? Am I doomed to be miserable, broke and alone? Is there any light shining for me in the coming year? Am I going to find some peace and be able to become what I feel I incarnated for on this planet? Or, will this miserable pattern keep going on over and over again…up and down? With gratitude. (AB)

It is important to acknowledge that your Sun conjunct Neptune in Scorpio in the 12th house, Mars and a retrograde Mercury also in the 12th house, a full Moon birthday and Uranus conjunct the Midheaven does not describe a smooth, easy life. That said, you are exactly right when you describe your potential talents, especially as an intuitive and healer. With five of your ten major planets in the 6th and 12th houses, this life is meant to be one of service, spiritual practice (whatever you are drawn to including developing your energetic/intuitive gifts) and letting go. I suspect many of your emotions are not even your own because you are so sensitive to others and the world. When you learn to create energetic boundaries, you will begin to feel much better and more hopeful/positive as you realize your amazing power to create. Uranus conjunct an angle will always be erratic bringing many ups and downs, sudden changes, chaos and unusual events until you know how to embrace it, play with it and dance with it. Then, Uranus becomes the “awakener”, the miracle worker and offers a fascinating life.

Currently, transiting Saturn has entered your 12th house making this the ideal time to learn more about your energy, develop your intuitive skills and become a healer (always, first healing oneself). Yes, it is work but the rewards will be great. In 2011 transiting Pluto has been squaring your Venus (happiness, ease, love, money) which has been hard. Though this aspect will not be over until November 2012, Pluto in 2012 will also trine your Moon in the 6th house and trine your natal Pluto in the 10th house which is quite promising for new work, growth and getting somewhere in your work and career. The money may be a bit slow for another nine months but will pick up after that with some potential improvement in the late spring. In February when transiting Neptune moves into Pisces to stay for 14 years, it will complete its two-year quincunx to your Uranus making life smoother, less crazy and more exciting.

The last 2 years have been quite difficult (transiting Pluto squaring natal Venus, progressed Venus squaring natal Pluto, solar arc Pluto conjunct natal Sun). These aspects will not be repeated; most are over and they will all be behind you later in 2012. In the spring transiting Jupiter moves into your partnership house, the 7th, as your solar arc Venus begins to square Uranus likely bringing romance into your life. There is light shining on you, your coming year and the work you came to do as you become your potential in the next stage of your life.

Hi there. I have just discovered your site. It is really great. Being a Cancerian I like the focus on the Moon cycles. The eclipse in June started a very intense cycle for me which I feel is just starting to mellow a bit. My energy has been low and I have had some very intense nervous system burnout type experiences. This more recent eclipse again sits close to my North/South Node axis. I was born July 18, 1956. Just wondering if you could comment on this. I have gone through very major changes in the last year or two. I am emerging from years of study abroad…now back in Canada (not totally my choice but slowly adjusting to being back) and starting to find/create work as an artist, teacher and Astrologer. My Gemini Venus means I always have several things on the go at the same time which suits me. The Astrology is moving along more quickly than the art teaching since I can work more easily from home due to my health. Meanwhile, I am greatly enjoying making art on my own time that is not dictated by my studies. Health issues have been big for me – ME/CFS for many years, car accident in 1988, head injuries and jaw pain. I often fear I will never get working. Fear of illness. Fear of success (losing my privacy) with Neptune on the IC last year opposite Pluto/Jupiter on the MC. Fear of failure. These last and current eclipses on my Nodes. As a somewhat new Astrologer I can see the patterns but as you know it’s hard to be objective about oneself. (SR)

Yes, Mooncircles is perfect for your Cancer Sun/Mercury and your Moon conjunct your North Node of the Moon. And, yes, the June 1st solar eclipse was conjunct your Moon tightly while the June 15th lunar eclipse was opposite your Venus, both activating your Nodes; the November 25th solar eclipse squared your Jupiter as it conjuncted your North Node and opposed your South Node while the December 10th lunar eclipse conjuncted your Venus. It is also helpful to note transiting Neptune approaching an opposition to your Jupiter in 2012 and a square to your Nodes in 2013 as transiting Saturn trines your Venus which transiting Jupiter will conjunct in 2013. Let’s add your progressed Moon moving into opposition to your Venus in January and your progressed Sun moving toward a square to your Venus over the next 4 years.

This recent activation of your Nodes/Moon/Venus is part of this larger evolution in your life path. Certainly, your natal Sun/Mercury/Uranus conjunction in your 9th house signals your genuine ability as an Astrologer and teacher which is also supported by your Moon in Sagittarius conjunct your Node North in Sagittarius. Your years abroad occurred as your progressed Venus conjuncted your 9th house planets. Now, with your progressed Moon in your 2nd house it is time to apply your talents and make some money becoming more and more self-sufficient. Your Scorpio Ascendant ruled by a 4th house Mars and a 10th house Pluto conjunct the MC reflects your working mostly at home as an impactful Astrologer, teacher and artist. I would advise you to trust continuing to pursue your art privately and personally which is an ideal use of your 8th house Venus trining a 12th house Neptune. It is best not to force your Venus/Saturn quincunx or Venus/Mars square by seeking to make your art as a business though Venus sextiling your MC/Pluto will open the right doors at the right time to publicize your art. Remember that Saturn is now transiting your 12th house calling you to quiet inner time, guided work and a deeper spiritual embrace of your work. Let Pluto and Jupiter in your 10th house do their work opening the doors to your success.

Mars, quincunx your Neptune and Pluto, ruling your 6th house was likely to precipitate an accident that would become a template for healing and right livelihood, however, your natal Mars also trines Saturn/Mercury/Sun promising the ability to heal or, at least, succeed despite some residual health needs. A natal Saturn square Pluto with Scorpio rising is not an easy life but you are nearing your 2nd Saturn return when all the challenges and work will pay off. Your 1st house Saturn is the indicator of the concrete fears you feel but it is the square to Pluto and your 12th house Neptune that describe your more generalized fears, fears that emanate from past life memories and current sensitivities. It would be most helpful to work with those memories to release them as you ground yourself in a strong, clear, aware self in this body and time which will also support your healing. Good luck, fellow Astrologer!

m  Conjunction:  Like peas in a pod, planets in conjunction tend to come from the same place. They act together, but it’s also hard to tell them apart. This aspect can increase talent, focus, and intensity (“two are better than one”). Or one planet can disappear as the other dominates. Their connection feels so natural, it’s easy to think everyone blends these planetary energies just as you do—but mostly, they don’t!.

p  Sextile:  Planets in sextile are compatible, though without any fireworks. This aspect doesn’t demand your attention. It quietly presents an opportunity. You can join these archetypal forces. Donna Cunningham has called this the “Oh, that!” aspect, because that’s generally what her clients say when she describes their benefits.  To get the most from sextiles you need to actively work them.

q  Square:  Squares are wild and wonderful—but difficult too. The power struggle between these planets was likely defined in your youth, when they were impossibly challenging. People are usually aware of their squares. They force the issues that make you to grow. And that’s their gift. They ensure you learn your lessons. When you rise to the occasion, they bless you with energy, action, and success.

r  Trine:  Michael Munkasey has dubbed this the “goddess aspect” because it’s so lovely. Identifying talents you may have perfected in a previous life, trines can bring you joy. There’s a nice flow of energy between planets in trine. They support and reinforce each another. But without any struggle, you might take them for granted—neither using nor developing their gifts. An unattended trine can sometimes trick you into negative behaviors.

t  Inconjunct/Quincunx:  Your quincunx planets are innately incompatible. Bringing them into harmonious expression requires constant adjustments. This can be stressful, also motivating. You’ve got to keep changing your process, opinions or attitude—which promotes highly creative solutions.

u  Opposition:  They say opposites attract—and planets in opposition are never far from each other, though they’re constantly bickering. You may be triggered into awareness of this aspect by other people who seem to resist or undermine you.  An opposition can make you feel uncertain, insecure, or discontent, until you can accept and see yourself in both energies. Typically people find it easier to identify with one side and project the other onto unsuspecting others in the outer world.
