Ask the Oracle – June 19, 2012

By Julia Bondi

I was born on December 13, 1977. I am hoping you can help me to gain some clarity on a couple of things that I have really been struggling with. My husband and I have been trying to conceive and I am wondering if there is a need for a medical intervention at this point or if we should just “chill out” and let the universe take the lead. I don’t know if there are bigger things afoot than I am able to realize and don’t want to push it if I should let it be. Also, I recently was laid off from my job and am in a position where I need to find a new profession and am having difficulty figuring out what path to take. Basically, I am just looking for some clarification and guidance as to what the near future has in store and where I should be concentrating my energies for maximum effectiveness and fulfillment! Any help you can provide would be immensely appreciated! (MF)

Your questions are right on track with your chart and your current aspects. It is no wonder you are seeking a new profession as transiting Pluto completes its two year opposition to your MC, the career angle, and transiting Uranus squares your MC. These aspects clearly describe both your layoff and your correct recognition that it is not only a new job but a new career that is the next step for you.

Your natal Moon, the planet of home, family and motherhood, is in your 4th house of family so, yes, you definitely do want to be a Mom and begin your family. However, the Moon which rules fertility is in Capricorn where it is currently being squared by Saturn until October both delaying pregnancy and highlighting the need to seek some assistance in preparing your body for a healthy, successful pregnancy. The natal Moon in the sign of Capricorn is fertile but often indicates some difficulty getting and sustaining a pregnancy. In addition to the Moon’s position in Capricorn, it is natally squared by Pluto and quincunxed by Saturn, both suggesting a concern about your health. The good news is that you can get pregnant. The birth of your first child is indicated by your progressed Sun conjuncting your natal Moon in the 4th house in two years, or your progressed Venus conjuncting your natal Moon in three years. Of course, these two aspects may be 2 children or one child and a great career coup over the next 2-3 years.

Meanwhile, I would suggest you seek both medical assistance and alternative help for a pregnancy. You may have an underlying infection, just need a cleansing or need some endocrine support. Your body should respond very well to homeopathic remedies, energy work and spiritual healing. Plus, a Capricorn Moon can respond well to and may need more traditional medical help.

I am sure you would love to work from home (Moon in the 4th), be your own boss (Pluto rising), and would like to have some people contact ( Libra rising and four planets in the 3rd house of communication). You did not mention your previous profession, but I would suggest sales, writing, teaching, which will utilize your 3rd house and 9th house planets, leading in time to your own business. Currently, I would just look for a job that will offer you support and an opportunity to learn new skills, concentrate on healing and getting pregnant as well, exploring what work/career is your calling. The next 2-3 years will be the time to find and begin your calling.

I was born November 19, 1961. I have been in the US for over 25 years. There is so much going on in my life! I got divorced in 1998 and moved to a new location the same year. I have been pretty much keeping to myself, working and raising my daughter who was then 7 years old (born March 29, 1991). In April 2003 my best friend died (born January 25, 1955) leaving 4 children, the two youngest went with their father. The two older children from a former marriage were pretty much on their own. The oldest went rogue and took up with a boyfriend leaving her younger sister on her own (born August 14, 1990). She came to live with me and my daughter. We had a tough ride but we managed . Both girls are now in college.

My daughter is still living at home and commuting to school. I left my job of 9 years and took a much lower paying job in 2008 thinking I could take time to work out what I really wanted from life and start my own business. I haven’t been in any other relationships which has been my choice since it seemed my focus needed to be on my two girls. Now I feel I really need to get myself out there but I keep getting in my own way.

My family is back in Europe having a lot of challenges with health, my Dad born October 30, 1937 and my brother born May 24, 1964. I feel I should be thinking of moving back home but my daughter still needs me to be here. I have also thought that when she finishes school in 2013 maybe we both could make a move back together.

I would really appreciate you taking a look at my chart as I feel that my mind is all over the place, that there is some good I could do in the world if only I could get clear. I have built a website which is actually the second one I have done. There is something in me that I need to share with the world but I become afraid that I will be rejected in the world. If I need to go back home I can and if I need to stay in the States I can. Do you see anything that will help me understand? (CB)

Whew, you have had a lot going on in your life these last 14 years! At half the 30 year Saturn cycle, it is time to review what took place 15 years ago with a willingness to recommit to your earlier choices or recognize that it is now time to move on to the next stage of your intentions, not stagnate due to fear or inertia. You are wise to review, rethink and revision your life at this time becoming clear about what choices you are called to make over the coming year.

In 2013 it will be 15 years since your divorce making it time to get back out there both in relationships and in work. Your chart shows a very independent woman (nine planets in the eastern, self initiating hemisphere, an Aries Moon, and Uranus conjunct the MC) as well as a very caring, committed woman (Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Neptune in Scorpio, Neptune aspecting all of your planets and a singleton Moon). It is natural for a person with four planets in Scorpio and Scorpio rising to be fiercely devoted to those she loves – in your case, your daughter, your friend who passed away, the second daughter you have helped raise, and your family back in Europe.

However, it is crucial to note that your chart does not indicate you should become your family’s caretaker. Your natal Moon is in your 5th house of children, illuminating how emotionally connected you are to your children. I would suggest staying here for now and completing what you committed to in 1998, which was raising your children.

As a Scorpio Sun, finding a loving, close, intimate and trustworthy partner is important for you in this life. I do think it is time to get back out there this fall as transiting Saturn enters your Scorpio Sun sign. Saturn will conjunct your Ascendant, beginning a new cycle of purpose in your life. Clearly you do have something else you need to share with the world or you would not have Uranus and Pluto conjunct in your 10th house of career, accomplishment and making an impact in the world. I doubt you know fully what this work or gift is; yet Neptune’s opposition to your 10th house Uranus is the beginning of this vision/calling becoming ever more apparent. It is time to begin this year though it will take some time to reach the vision you sense.

The culmination of your coming career and contribution is indicated by your progressed Sun, the ruler of your career house, conjuncting your natal Saturn in your 3rd house in approximately seven years. Meanwhile, a new relationship is ready for you over the next year as transiting Saturn conjuncts your natal Venus which rules your 7th house of partnership. The 9th house of long distance moves, where we look to see if you will be making a major move, is ruled by the Moon in your chart. When transiting Uranus conjuncts your natal Moon in 2014 you will surely make a significant mov,e though whether it will be back home or with your new partner remains to be seen.

As your progressed Moon, the ruler of home and family, moves into your 4th house of home and family, your family is becoming more of a concern. You are thoughtful about your responsibilities and you may just want to go home, however, it is a little too soon to make that decision. For this next year, stick with what you are already doing – caring for your girls, building your new career, opening to a new love, being supportive of your family back home and listening to Neptune’s guidance. Do take the time to meditate, pray or in some way deepen your inner voice.

Astrologers use a variety of house systems, or methods of dividing up the sky into twelve sections. I use the Porphyry house system; another popular house system is Placidus (this is the default on https://astro.com). If the chart I send you looks different from what you are used to seeing, then likely a system other than Porphyry was used. Whole signs, Equal House, Regiomantus, and Campanus are examples of other systems. If you find all of this confusing, do not worry. It is likely not critical to your report.

m  Conjunction:  Like peas in a pod, planets in conjunction tend to come from the same place. They act together, but it’s also hard to tell them apart. This aspect can increase talent, focus, and intensity (“two are better than one”). Or one planet can disappear as the other dominates. Their connection feels so natural, it’s easy to think everyone blends these planetary energies just as you do—but mostly, they don’t!.

p  Sextile:  Planets in sextile are compatible, though without any fireworks. This aspect doesn’t demand your attention. It quietly presents an opportunity. You can join these archetypal forces. Donna Cunningham has called this the “Oh, that!” aspect, because that’s generally what her clients say when she describes their benefits.  To get the most from sextiles you need to actively work them.

q  Square:  Squares are wild and wonderful—but difficult too. The power struggle between these planets was likely defined in your youth, when they were impossibly challenging. People are usually aware of their squares. They force the issues that make you to grow. And that’s their gift. They ensure you learn your lessons. When you rise to the occasion, they bless you with energy, action, and success.

r  Trine:  Michael Munkasey has dubbed this the “goddess aspect” because it’s so lovely. Identifying talents you may have perfected in a previous life, trines can bring you joy. There’s a nice flow of energy between planets in trine. They support and reinforce each another. But without any struggle, you might take them for granted—neither using nor developing their gifts. An unattended trine can sometimes trick you into negative behaviors.

t  Inconjunct/Quincunx:  Your quincunx planets are innately incompatible. Bringing them into harmonious expression requires constant adjustments. This can be stressful, also motivating. You’ve got to keep changing your process, opinions or attitude—which promotes highly creative solutions.

u  Opposition:  They say opposites attract—and planets in opposition are never far from each other, though they’re constantly bickering. You may be triggered into awareness of this aspect by other people who seem to resist or undermine you.  An opposition can make you feel uncertain, insecure, or discontent, until you can accept and see yourself in both energies. Typically people find it easier to identify with one side and project the other onto unsuspecting others in the outer world.
