Ask the Oracle: September 19, 2013

By Julia Bondi

I was born September 13, 1961. I am a hard worker who loves to see people happy, always helping others. I guess I possess the traits of a Virgo. In all these years I have lived doing what I loved but now realize what is my true joy and a foundation for me which I always thought was selfish. I got out of a relationship after finding that she was not honest yet she still wants me back even though she lives with another. I knew I was different from most around me. I now understand that I am a proud, loving Wicca learning everyday of my belief. The struggle I face is how to move forward without the past coming into my future. I want to move out of state but find myself financially tight and I feel negativity coming from my past, not letting me go. The last few days my spirit is becoming more positive which I am embracing. I guess I wonder if you see a change for me in all aspects of my life. When I ask the Goddess for true love, the past calls or texts arrive to drive me crazy which I try to mainly ignore. Thank you and blessings. (DR)

Jupiter at your Midheaven, Uranus at your Descendant and Pluto at your IC are surely calling you to a new life, a new location, a more exciting work and an utterly different relationship. All four of the angles in your chart are being stimulated by Jupiter, possibility and improvement; Uranus, major changes and beginning life again; and Pluto, letting go of all that is painful from the past and empowerment of all you can be and do. As transiting Jupiter has reached your Midheaven, a 12 year cycle, you would be feeling more positive which is right to embrace and build on for this next 18 months as you find new work, a more fulfilling career. Transiting Uranus conjunct your Descendant, an 85 year cycle, indicates that you are ready to end your past relationship completely, to move to a very new, very different person with whom you will build a relationship in which you can truly be yourself. Transiting Pluto will begin to conjunct your IC, the angle of home, in 2014 which demands that you confront and heal anything and everything in your past that no longer supports you and your future as well as any shadow you may have avoided. This will lead to a major move though there may be more than one move ahead of you in the next 1-4 years. Currently, transiting Jupiter is, has been, and will be in your 9th house of major moves until next spring, an ideal time to move out of state or to a new environment. However, the ruler of your 9th house is being opposed by transiting Uranus and squared by Pluto suggesting that this move is a needed change bringing you to your life renewal but there will likely be another move when your solar arc progressed Mercury squares your natal Pluto. The answer to your question of change in all aspects of your life is Yes! And, yes, it is absolutely necessary to let go of, get away from, cease to respond to your past and any negativity associated with your past. Credit yourself with making the changes you have already made and stay open to all the changes ahead of you. Your embrace of Wicca, your found faith, is a response to your progressed Sun conjuncting your natal Neptune which is aonce in a lifetime awakening. You are on your true path.

I can’t help but wonder when I will be employed again. With an above average intelligence and a learning disability, I often struggle. I have taken several entrance exams but don’t seem to score well although I have done jobs as a temporary employee. I am college educated having started working when I was fifteen. It has been a challenging two years so I am ready to hear something encouraging. What can I anticipate in the coming year? My birthday is July 16, 1983. (KR)

Fortunately, you were born with Jupiter, the planet of optimism/possibility/belief that things can improve, strongly placed at your Midheaven and ruling your career house which bodes well for your life and career to be successful. However, I understand that you have struggled and will always have to make that extra effort as anyone with a Sun square your Moon/Saturn/Pluto would. The Moon square requires that you learn to be at ease with who you exactly are and where you came from, while the Saturn square requires that you are willing to work harder than most to achieve your success and the Pluto square requires that you focus your natural energy/power/personality consciously and positively. More is asked yet more is also possible. Why have these last two years been so challenging? Yes, your chart does offer clear insight into this time period which has been dominated by transiting Neptune squaring your Midheaven, your career angle, as it also squared your natal Uranus which rules your chart. As Neptune dissolves what has been, it becomes crucial to be able to imagine and revision your economic and career future. What do you really want to do, to be? This has been the time to dream bigger dreams followed by a constructive plan to prepare yourself for this new future as you take the jobs you can find while you are creating a new path forward. In addition to your Neptune transits you completed your first Saturn return in the fall of 2012 which is a natural time to review, restructure, address anything which is unfinished in yourself or your past, and look forward with a clear focus to the future you wish to create over these next 30 years. This is a new beginning with new dreams and potential demanding time, investment, growth and a willingness to be more open than you have ever been to inner and outer guidance. In late June transiting Jupiter moved into Cancer which is your Sun sign indicating a time of more possibilities over the coming months. This fall Jupiter will move into your 6th house of jobs leading to a likely job this fall and an even better one by next spring as Jupiter moves to conjunct your Sun in your 6th house. What you dream and build now, will yield significant results in a substantial career move when transiting Saturn moves to your Midheaven in 2015. Though money will be a bit of challenge as transiting Uranus and Pluto aspect your natal Mars, co-ruler of your 2nd house of income, trust that this time will lead to an income more commensurate with your ability, education and desires.

Astrologers use a variety of house systems, or methods of dividing up the sky into twelve sections. I use the Porphyry house system; another popular house system is Placidus (this is the default on https://astro.com). If the chart I send you looks different from what you are used to seeing, then likely a system other than Porphyry was used. Whole signs, Equal House, Regiomantus, and Campanus are examples of other systems. If you find all of this confusing, do not worry. It is likely not critical to your report.

m  Conjunction:  Like peas in a pod, planets in conjunction tend to come from the same place. They act together, but it’s also hard to tell them apart. This aspect can increase talent, focus, and intensity (“two are better than one”). Or one planet can disappear as the other dominates. Their connection feels so natural, it’s easy to think everyone blends these planetary energies just as you do—but mostly, they don’t!.

p  Sextile:  Planets in sextile are compatible, though without any fireworks. This aspect doesn’t demand your attention. It quietly presents an opportunity. You can join these archetypal forces. Donna Cunningham has called this the “Oh, that!” aspect, because that’s generally what her clients say when she describes their benefits.  To get the most from sextiles you need to actively work them.

q  Square:  Squares are wild and wonderful—but difficult too. The power struggle between these planets was likely defined in your youth, when they were impossibly challenging. People are usually aware of their squares. They force the issues that make you to grow. And that’s their gift. They ensure you learn your lessons. When you rise to the occasion, they bless you with energy, action, and success.

r  Trine:  Michael Munkasey has dubbed this the “goddess aspect” because it’s so lovely. Identifying talents you may have perfected in a previous life, trines can bring you joy. There’s a nice flow of energy between planets in trine. They support and reinforce each another. But without any struggle, you might take them for granted—neither using nor developing their gifts. An unattended trine can sometimes trick you into negative behaviors.

t  Inconjunct/Quincunx:  Your quincunx planets are innately incompatible. Bringing them into harmonious expression requires constant adjustments. This can be stressful, also motivating. You’ve got to keep changing your process, opinions or attitude—which promotes highly creative solutions.

u  Opposition:  They say opposites attract—and planets in opposition are never far from each other, though they’re constantly bickering. You may be triggered into awareness of this aspect by other people who seem to resist or undermine you.  An opposition can make you feel uncertain, insecure, or discontent, until you can accept and see yourself in both energies. Typically people find it easier to identify with one side and project the other onto unsuspecting others in the outer world.
