From the “Moon Lovers” series
by Dana Gerhardt
Knowing the Pisces Moon requires sensitivity. Or a moon-wise friend: this one’s in her garden, wearing a lavender skirt, flowing scarves, and painting a swirl of watercolors against a large canvas. Operatic arias pour from her living room stereo. A lilac bush is swaying with the sound. A vibrant pink rose is looking at you with great interest. “I should know better than to paint on a Pisces moon. The canvas will never dry—but I can’t help myself.” She stops to listen to the tenor’s high note, long and sad. Her eyes tear up. They travel far away, then come back again. “It’s the day for gardening. Whatever you plant now will soak up life force like a sponge. Can’t you tell how juicy and porous the plants are?” She winks. “We’re the same. The smart ones launch their advertising campaigns for we absorb everything. Have a party and we’ll all be drunk in minutes.” She continues painting. You recline in the grass and find yourself meditating effortlessly. You take off your shoes and massage your feet, lovingly, exploring the zones of reflexology. Boundaries dissolve. Just for today: all is one. Every Pisces moon find the rabbit hole that will take you here.
Daily Planner for Today’s Pisces Moon
by April Elliott Kent
Today’s Mood: It’s all good, bro.
Today’s Question: “Where is the love?”
Today’s Gods: Jupiter, the God of Thunder and pretty much the boss of all the other gods. (This explains why Pisces are not really as meek as they’re made out to be.) Also Neptune, the god of the ocean, representing Pisces’ primordial connection with all other beings.
Today’s Guides: fish and fishermen; mystics and priests; poets, painters, and musicmakers; drunks and addicts; your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, the homeless tempest-tossed.
Today’s Wardrobe: Think Stevie Nicks and any male rock singer who wears a feather boa. Lots of gauzy fabrics, velvet, lace, possibly feathers.
Today’s assignments: Just to love, and be loved in return. Oh and maybe some meditation, a nap, a little swimming, some music, and a comforting visit or phone call to a friend in need.
More Pisces Strategies
by Simone Butler
Pisces Moon days are dreamy and emotional. You may feel quite creative, but your imagination can also run away with you. Getting lost in fantasies can be fun – like watching a stirring movie. But try to keep your feet on the ground with important decisions such as making big purchases or choosing a new partner. Today’s mystical states and awareness of subtle energies can sharpen your perceptions and enhance your spiritual powers. Are you touching the Moon?
It’s one thing to read about the Moon, but another to tune into her with energetic sensitivity. The first method is mental; the second is sensuous and intuitive (which is of course the preferred way to grasp the Moon). Lunar intuition is a natural ability that can be developed with practice. Developing mine, I was inspired by a friend’s report of spending an idyllic summer in the forest. Nestled in nature, without the chaos of the competing mechanical rhythms, her sensitivity became so refined, she felt it whenever the Moon changed signs.
Nature is everywhere. Even in our concrete and cyber jungles, we can sense her influence. At least once with the Moon in this sign, give yourself a 15-minute luxury of stillness. Quiet your thoughts. Observe the energy—how are things moving? Tune into the texture of the atmosphere floating around you. Feel its sensation on your skin. Describe what you feel, even if it’s so subtle you think you’re making it up. Over time your sensitivity and discernment will increase. In a month, you sense this sign again.
A water sign Moon, key qualities for Pisces are cool and moist. Think of cool mist. Imagine being surrounded by it; it’s drawing into your pores and sinking into the earth, nourishing the roots of all growing things. Train your senses on water’s life-sustaining force. If there’s ever a time to take a long, luxurious scented bath, it’s during a water sign Moon. Water can be far more soothing and nourishing now, in ways your senses will slowly start to name. Touch the leaves of your camellia bush—can you feel how supple they are? Is your skin softer today? Water days can help to open intuition; too much water and we might drown in self-indulgence or apathy.

Lunar Reading for Today’s Pisces Moon
“Pisces Moon: “A spacey, dreamy time, when people are prone to overindulge in alcohol or drugs. Not good for making decisions or clear thinking, but instead for creativity, music, inspiration, and meditation. Emotions and sentiments run high, as well as concern and empathy for others. Wonderful for ocean visits, swimming, dancing, praying, or wallowing in self-pity.” ~ Donna Cunningham
