I know it’s odd to call anything Pisces “practical,” Pisces being the most impractical sign. Its Moon is drifty, dreamy, other-worldly. Yet the Sun in Virgo wants us to snap to and recognize the opportunity afoot. In your domestic life, no Moon is more useful than a Full Moon in water!
Full Moons are by nature more liquid, porous, and absorbent periods. These qualities grow even stronger in water sign Moons. How can you take advantage this weekend?
- If you’re a gardener, this is the Moon for nourishing your plants with deep watering and/or organic fertilizers. For those in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s a fine way to end the summer growing season, with one last gift for your plants.
- This is the best Moon for beauty treatments like facials and mud baths. You’ll double the benefit.
- It’s a great Moon for any kind of deep cleansing–cupboards, carpets, floors and fabrics. Difficult stains may be easier to lift at this time.
- This is also the best Moon for applying color to hair or textiles. Colors are more vivid and last longer.
- Healing treatments are more effective. The cells of the body absorb the potions more readily.
But don’t take my word for it. Try one of these activities and see for yourself! The practical Moon loves to be tested and seen.
Pisces Full Moon Cautions
It’s also true that during this Moon intoxicants and drugs are more readily absorbed. This is not the best weekend for wild drinking! Less can do more, and quickly.
You might also find yourself feeling tired and a bit off balance. Watery Full Moons can increase emotional and energetic confusion. Bodies can bloat with water retention. Retained water or energy can make us feel stuffed and lethargic. If you find yourself in this condition, the best remedy may be more water—in this case, the gift of water mixed with Epsom salts. A natural anti-inflammatory, Epsom salts have a seemingly magical ability to draw toxins, cellular waste, and excess water out of the body. This can actually reduce your thighs, arms and waist!
Years ago, I watched a demonstration with a willing participant. Her measurements were taken before and after the bath. She lost inches! The bath water should be just below body temperature—between 97 and 98 degrees. Use two cups of the salt. Ten minutes in the bath is all you need. A perfect amount of time to close your eyes and contemplate the inner Full Moon.
Do you feel an urge to go deeper, to get even more intimate with the Moon?
A good place to start is with a Moonprints report, which maps the landscape of your birth Moon–sign, house, phase–and much more!
Would you like to learn how to ride the Moon’s currents throughout the month?
You’ll need a proper Moon calendar–and the right information. You’ll get both in my monthly Moon workshop.
