I just deleted my profile on an online matchmaking site. Ninety dollars down the drain! The endless parade of unappealing men and clever scammers was just too much for me. I realized I’d fallen prey to a “cat-fishing” scheme after communicating with one of these fakers for an entire week. There must be a better way to meet decent men, right?
Cat-fishing is just one of many examples of folks misrepresenting the truth. Since 2020, we’ve seen a great deal of fakery and delusion play out during a series of eclipses on the Gemini-Sagittarius axis, all squared by murky yet idealistic Neptune in Pisces. These eclipses in the signs of communication and belief systems have helped magnify falsehoods and polarization, but also greater awareness and a burning desire for change. This is especially true in the USA, which has Sagittarius rising according to its Sibly chart.
And guess what? The New Moon Solar Eclipse (Dec. 3, 11:42 p.m. PST) falls at 12 degrees Sagittarius, just one degree from the U.S. Ascendant. This solar eclipse is total – but it’s mainly visible over Antarctica and lasts for only two minutes. Still, it activates the U.S. collective identity as the “Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.” And it intensifies the ongoing demand that we face the shadow side of our history, which includes white supremacy, the extermination of native peoples and enslavement of Africans.
This final eclipse on the Gemini-Sagittarius axis (until 2029) is sure to light fires and catalyze things in our individual lives as well. As eclipse expert April Elliott Kent puts it in her latest essay, “The final eclipse in a pair of signs is a little like graduation day. Hopefully, the six eclipses in Gemini and Sagittarius since May 2020 have helped us open our minds and begin rewriting our stories; this final one should help us evaluate our progress.”
This solar eclipse happens near outspoken Mercury in Sagittarius, and once again squares Neptune. Fact-checking is essential, especially before posting on social media. Minds, hearts and tempers will be blazing, yet the truth may be hard to pin down. Cultivate the flame of your desire, but don’t let hot-headedness prevail. New Moons are seed-planting times, yet when the Moon is dark, it’s not easy to see clearly. It’s good to develop a smart strategy and meditate on the higher truth of things before taking action.
You’ll likely be feeling a burning desire for movement in whatever house of your chart contains Sagittarius. (Sagittarius rising = 1st house, Capricorn rising = 12th house, Aquarius rising = 11th house, Pisces rising = 10th house, Aries rising = 9th house, Taurus rising = 8th house, Gemini rising = 7th house, Cancer rising = 6th house, Leo rising = 5th house, Virgo rising = 4th house, Libra rising = 3rd house, Scorpio rising = 2nd house).
What might your burning desire look like?
First House: To take a stand, make a fresh start, change your appearance
Second House: To make more money, rethink your values, make a purchase
Third House: To speak your mind, learn something new, deal with siblings
Fourth House: To redecorate your home, relocate, or be with family
Fifth House: To have more fun, be romantic, create something artistic
Sixth House: To get healthier, quit your job, be of service to others
Seventh House: To marry, reconnect with a partner, share with others
Eighth House: To have sex, share secrets, make an investment
Ninth House: To travel, further your education, tap your Higher Self
Tenth House: To make a mark on the world, expand your influence
Eleventh House: To collaborate with others, get involved in social activism
Twelfth House: To take time off, study your dreams, make a treasure map
The eclipse activates my seventh house, and I have a burning desire for a mate. So, I’m revising my strategy (no more Internet dating!). With Venus, planet of love and the arts, turning retrograde conjunct deep, dark Pluto on Dec. 11, I’ve decided to fan the flames of long-time passions (like straw bale building) to meet someone who’s aligned with me.

Thanks for that Simone. Similar to you the eclipse falls in house 7 . How are you going to fan the flames ? I’m at a loss on how to move forward in this area.

You could try this ritual that a reader of my blog just sent me – I did it last night but we’re still in the energy of the New Moon for the next few days., She said her soulmate arrived within two weeks of doing it.
* Write down a list of requirements for someone to qualify as your soulmate.
* Make sure everything you ask of him you are willing/capable of giving in return.
*Read your list at a New Moon.
*Tuck it in a place that’s sacred to you (she used a Bible).
*Wait until he shows up
Good luck – and let me know if it works for you!

Good to read. I remarried 5 years ago and didn’t realize my wife was a covert narcissist. She went by the book, line by line, as discovered to turn this awesome, handsome, smart man into a sniveling blob of crap. Jealous, paranoid, can’t figure what’s wrong with me. I sure hope this eclipse does in fact help me out of this emotional grave. Brian

I hope so too, Brian! Many blessings to you…

Simone, I just wanted to let you know that I am sorry you went through all that. I read your article and feel a collective bit of anger and disappointment in the people who feel there only option is to fake and conspire and fool people. Don’t take it personally, the world is certainly in a strange time. The right person will show up for you for sure. You are a bright and generous soul who deserves better.
