It’s a special Full Moon. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s the Harvest Moon, the Full Moon closest to the Autumn Equinox, when the Sun entered Libra and the Earth turned toward a new season.
Libra is a cardinal sign and in cardinal months we’re often inspired to take new action. There is energy for movement and change! But first, bless yourself with a little Moon magic. This is a revision of an ancient Moon ceremony. It starts with a little reflection. On the morning of the Harvest Moon, write down this question: “What do I most wish for in the next three months?” What would you most like to manifest? Return to this question several times throughout the day and record all of your answers.
On the night of the Harvest Moon, before moonrise at sunset, select the wish that feels most energetic and true. If you can, find a secluded spot so you can stand comfortably naked (or nearly so!) under the Moon. Undressing was often a requirement of ancient lunar rituals. But if it’s a cold night, understand: this is a metaphor. Being naked suggests you’re open, vulnerable, without designs.
Keeping your eyes on the Moon, start scrubbing your skin, as though you were bathing in the moonbeams. Relax, eyes softly on the Moon. When you feel ready, remember your wish. Ask Luna to help. Ask her to energize your good fate. Watch the Moon for a sign. If she remains clear, that’s a “Yes!” If she brightens and her light intensifies, that’s a strong “Yes!” If a cloud passes over the Moon, you may need to re-think or refine your wish. You can try again the following night, as the Harvest Moon lasts at least three days.

I’m not sure I know the specific ritual you’re referring to, although mirrors are often used in drawing down the moon. You can charge important objects like ritual tools or jewelry and place them on a mirror underneath the moon. Or, you can charge your mirror with moonlight and later use it for scrying.

I WAS LOOKING FOR THE RITUAL FOR USING THE MIRROR PLACING IT OUTSIDE DURING THE HARVEST MOON?

What a lovely ritual … it’s time I got back into the woods, and with a Sun at 0 Libra, this Full Moon is a big one for me!
