Below is an excerpt from the findings of my Venus research (more info about that here):
My boyfriend brings out the goddess in me. He tells me what a beautiful body I have and that I make him feel more masculine. What turns me on? Run your fingers very lightly and slowly over every inch of my body—there is no place that wouldn’t respond to that kind of touch. –PK
Soft, silky fabrics are a must. I buy things based on how they feel. I love things that sparkle and shine. I always have fresh flowers. I like candles but am careful with scents because my husband and I are both easily overwhelmed by anything too strong. Too many people overdo it. And less is more when it comes to touch. I like light feather touches. ––LL
My father was a bodybuilder and my mother was a beauty queen and won dance contests. Beauty and sex appeal and being joyous about your physical self runs in my genes. –JZ
Your Venus in Libra is paying attention to things. She’s listening and adjusting, always reaching for that perfect point of equilibrium, as harmony in relationship. She is looking for a kindred spirit, but there’s also this sense that “If I’m soft, I need you to be strong; in fact I can help you feel more strong and masculine by holding that soft feminine part of the polarity. So I’m excited by your strength, but I want you to respect my sensitivity—touch me softly, like I’m a soft silky fabric.”
One woman said “I like to be pet like a kitty.” One gentleman said, “Sometimes my skin is so sensitive it actually hurts to be touched in an erotic way—at that time only the “official erogenous zones” can be touched, because the rest of my body feels like it’s on fire.”
Be gentle with me
There can be a bit of a “Princess & the Pea” sensitivity with your Venus sign, who typically dislikes anything crude or rough. Surprisingly, the Venus-in-Libras in my survey weren’t especially comfortable with flirting. They felt that if they were rejected, they would just die. A few told really painful stories of being humiliated as their partner flirted with another woman in their presence (something a Venus in Sagittarius might not even notice).
One woman told a childhood story about the time she caught the measles at boarding school. She brought it home for the holidays and when her boyfriend came to visit, she hid in her room. Her face was so swollen she felt hideous. Yet her mother insisted. Fifty years later this Libra Venus still remembers the horrified look on her boyfriend’s face. That was the last time she ever saw him.
So there’s a delicacy with your Venus in Libra. She’s refined, artistic, sophisticated. She has a nose for the finer things in life. A highly developed sense of aesthetics. One Venus in Libra’s fantasy was to walk between two rows of gorgeous naked men, while gently brushing her silk scarf over their erect penises as she passed. The silk scarf part is Venus in Libra, but the two rows of naked men were her Moon in Taurus in the 8th house!
I once had a lover who was so beautiful that straight men and gay women swooned over him. My sister-in-law actually blushed when she met him; my mother couldn’t speak, and a close gay friend literally broke out in a sweat—and the beautiful man in question laughed with him about it, with the grace of a god. I got taken to a place that felt like holiness just looking at him. I drank him in, in every way I could, as if to heal myself. His beauty was healing for me. Our lovemaking took me to the place where beauty originates, neither mortal nor gendered—it was divine. I now know how Venus felt about Adonis. –YK
The raw energies inside your Libra Venus
When astrology was a sacred practice, it was understood that life itself, our very bodies, were infused with the divine. The first astrologers knew the Gods as the powerful, vibrant and creative play of emotions running through their world. The gods appeared as sandstorms, thunder claps, bird song, floods, abundant harvests, calamities, shouts of sorrow and joy.
Gods are immortal which means we can still find them as the ancients did. Astrology can help. Signs point us to the raw energies that define each sign–the underlying element and mode. The element describes the dominant energy your Venus likes to run. This is her fuel. The mode describes her preferred speed. Together they suggest the sensory coordinates to use when dialing in your Venus.
Air
Libra is an air sign. Air is light, fresh, alive, in motion. Use your imagination to make these sensations more vivid. Imagination is the control panel that takes us into the invisible world. Think of a rain forest, teeming with activity, ripe with odors, its green forest leaves busily returning oxygen to the air. Think of blood circulating through your veins, air moving in and out of your lungs, sound and scents traveling on the wind. Air sign planets say things like this:
I’m a people person. I like to socialize.
I see things from all sides.
My mind is acrobatic.
I like to be liked.
I enjoy hanging out in my head–which is often too busy to meditate.
Sometimes I’m scattered, distracted, indecisive.
I love restaurants and coffee shops–the buzz of chattering people invigorates me.
I can go into denial around feelings–mine or another’s.
I’m restless.
Cardinal
This is the rhythm section–the bass line in your Venus song. With cardinal signs, the tempo is quick, upbeat. Libra is active, on the move, maybe searching for something. She is especially energized by making connections. Can you sense how alive your Venus is? Find her in the delight of her charmed receptivity. Notice how typical cardinal voices (below) are less passive and accomodating than the usual descriptions of Venus in this sign. Can you find the initiating energy of the cardinal tempo in your Venus?
I’m ambitious and enterprising when I want something.
I’m fearless and competitive about what interests me.
I may do too much too soon, and escape things before they’re really over.
Give me a crisis—anything—something! I hate being bored
It’s not that I like to argue—I just enjoy being connected.
I create rules and I break rules–I don’t particularly follow them.
I’m great in emergencies.
I want what I want when I want it.
