When the moon is in the seventh house
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius
I like magic. But I usually delete any emails that announce a monumental shift in consciousness will occur next Tuesday at 10:00 am when ancient Light Beings or a world-wide group meditation will suddenly open portals to other dimensions–if we rub our crystals three times, sign up for a particular workshop, or just believe. Also silly are all the emails I’m getting about a “rare” planetary alignment occurring this Valentine’s Day, matching the prophecy from the 60’s musical Hair. I dutifully loved and sang the songs from Hair as a teenager, but I know of no astrological reason for this not-so-rare alignment ushering in the Age of Aquarius overnight. Every day the moon reaches the seventh house for a couple of hours. It’s in the seventh sign (Libra) a dozen or more times a year. Mars conjuncts Jupiter every two years. They’ve aligned in Aquarius twice already since Hair debuted (in 1973 and 1998). And the shift from one astrological age to the next usually spans a hundred years or more. Not that I want to rain on anyone’s Valentine’s Day parade. If you want to thrill to a rare alignment, just study the mood in your lover’s eyes, or the bird landing on the branch, or the way the air is touching your skin right now. If the internet went crazy for unrepeatable miracles like these, a new age would dawn indeed!
