The pink “pussy hat” was a genteel Jupiter-in-Libra thing. Jupiter now in Scorpio is more ruthless, determined, and secretive. Weinstein accuser, Rose McGowan (above) has the right look: no nonsense black suit, shades, unsmiling, focused. Jupiter entered Scorpio on October 10, 2017. On October 23, Ronan Farrow’s ground-breaking New Yorker article exposing Harvey Weinstein’s abuses was published. Since then a tidal wave of feminine righteousness has crashed onto the beaches of power around the world.
Jupiter brings an auspicious opportunity to culturally re-imagine — and look for the luck within — every sign he visits. Scorpio rules “money, power, sex, and transformation.” The transformative power of this transit has been stunning. Gender power dynamics have shifted so quickly these past few months, many of us still have whiplash. Every week across so many industries, prominent men are being exposed — and toppled — for the type of sexual misconduct that has gone unchallenged for thousands of years. Jupiter is moving swiftly. Victims are being believed. Accused abusers often resign within hours or days of their secrets emerging into the light. Already Weinstein is in handcuffs and Farrow has a Pulitzer for his reporting.
Jupiter’s revelations about power and money are no less astonishing. We’ve always known about public corruption, but now we’re seeing it, out in the open, daily. Jupiter brought us the massive tax overhaul that has put even more money into the pockets of wealthy corporations. Scorpio is an “underworld” sign. What’s in the underworld, along with its wealth of oil, ore, and jewels, are the shady matters that polite people don’t usually talk about. Sex scandals, hush money, spies, crime, waste, urine and excrement are among the themes that Scorpio rules. That “spycraft,” “secret dossiers” and “peepee tapes” are constantly in the news is also this Jupiter’s doing. Here’s a Jupiter-in-Scorpio story you may have missed: Recently a New Jersey school superintendent was arrested for (several days in a row) defecating on the lawn of a rival high school. There’s an unfortunate example of free will. Everyone gets to choose how they channel and create with the celestial energies.
If you’re around 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, or 84, this could be a particularly significant Jupiter transit, as Jupiter is returning to your birth sign. The “Jupiter Return” first occurs for all of us around 11/12 years-old. This is when an important life passion often snaps into place. Think back to that time in your own life. Perhaps something life-changing occurred for you that year. It could be big or small. Sometimes it’s a lucky event. Sometimes it’s shattering. Either way, your world cracked open. It got bigger. You either found the meaning of your life — or you got launched on your journey toward it.
Donald Trump’s son, Barron, celebrated his 12th birthday earlier this year. His birth Jupiter is in Scorpio. I can’t begin to imagine what it would feel like to learn at 12 that your father had an affair with a porn star shortly after you were born. But it carries the fingerprints of Jupiter in Scorpio.
Jupiter will leave Scorpio on November 8 this year. How has Jupiter-in-Scorpio touched you? Find the Scorpio house in your chart. Consider what’s been happening in this area of life since October last year. Are you feeling more powerful or less? Have you seen new luck and opportunity? Or deflation and collapse? Jupiter can send important messages on the wings of success or failure. You still have time to re-imagine things. Go for your empowerment. Be unafraid. But be willing to go deep. Take no prisoners. Transform.
