Scorpio New Moon: Meet Your Invisible Allies

Scorpio guides our relationship with the “other side”—the invisible realms hidden from ordinary view. Often, the soul’s journey through Scorpio takes us down into the underworld, where something old must die before something new can emerge. This is the transformation symbolized by Scorpio’s mythical phoenix, rising from its own ashes.

Yet we don’t make this journey alone. Invisible guardians accompany us throughout our lives, whether we’re in the underworld or soaring in the upper heights. Because this is the season when the veil between worlds is said to grow thin, the Scorpio new moon is an especially auspicious time to reconnect with them.

The Team Beside You

Each of us has a team of invisible guardians, assigned to accompany us through this life. We might experience them as angels, saints, spirit animals or the ancestors. Socrates had his daimon, whose wisdom and quiet warnings helped him navigate his life. Teresa of Ávila was visited by a beautiful angel with a face aflame, who carried a golden spear tipped with fire. Again and again, he plunged it into her heart, leaving her burning with divine love.”

The invisible world is richly populated. Angels watch over us, ancestral spirits offer their blessings, and nature spirits tend the mountains, trees, lakes, and streams. We are surrounded by friends.

Preparing for the Encounter

To connect with one of your invisible allies, begin by sitting in a quiet, sacred space—perhaps before your altar. Light a candle or a stick of incense to signal your intention to enter the otherworld. Imagine a circle of protection surrounding you. Feel how it holds you, keeping you safe and gently separating you from the ordinary world.

Then, in your own words, with deep sincerity in your heart, offer a prayer or invocation inviting the presence of your guide, even if you don’t know what form they might take.

Meeting Spirit with Imagination and Presence

After the prayer, simply sit in silence. As the quiet deepens, imagine the veil beginning to lift between this world and the world of the Invisibles. Wait patiently, as you would for a guest.

Perhaps you sense a subtle shift in the air: a thickening, a warmth, a sudden lightness. Something about this presence touches your heart. It speaks to you without words, yet you feel known. Rest in this feeling for a while, then allow an image to begin forming in your inner vision. Your spirit guide may appear as a familiar figure—a beloved prophet, a wise priestess, a radiant shaman, a Sufi dervish, a mythic god or goddess. Or they may come as someone entirely new: luminous and otherworldly, or simple and human.

You might see only a fuzzy outline. That’s fine. Let it be. Watch that your thinking mind doesn’t interrupt. Whatever arises, trust your imagination and receive it with quiet reverence.

Receiving Guidance

When you’re ready, imagine this being taking your hand. Looking into your eyes, your guide offers you a simple, loving message: You are never alone. No matter the hardship, you are held and accompanied.

Then your guide offers a gift—perhaps an insight, a message, or an answer to the longing in your heart. Take a little time to receive it. You needn’t understand everything at once.

After a few moments in this quiet communion, let your hands release. You and your guide bow in farewell. As the spirit melts back into the realm of the Invisibles, offer a final prayer of gratitude for the loving support that surrounds you always.
