This may be Bibi’s and Poldi’s last Venus retrograde as a couple. The turtles have been together for 115 years, longer than any human can remember. Perhaps it was the influence of the accelerated Divine Feminine energies this year, peaking at the Transit of retrograde Venus conjunct the Sun. This event brought us the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and a rare and wonderful planetary viewing. More eyes were on the planet Venus crossing the Sun than ever in human history. Perhaps it was this that inspired Bibi. Maybe she wanted more out of her long life. She attacked Poldi and took a bite out of his shell.
The experts at the Austrian Zoo were horrified. This rarely happens to long-term couples in the natural world. Zoo people counseled the couple, fed them good mood aphrodisiacs, and tried to encourage more playfulness. But Bibi was determined to get away. Venus retrogrades can break up long term relationships, start new ones, and/or bring old lovers into our lives, or they may not affect our relationships at all. What they will do is make our level of happiness a new priority. We may find ourselves in grateful bliss or indignant fury. But the end goal is the same: we want more joy in our lives. We hope both Bibi and Poldi find themselves moving on to better things, however slowly.
Somehow this is really funny to me….and a little sad…I guess. I kind of identify with Bibi and feel fortunate that as a human being I can buy my own house and feel…free…relieved…well into the next leg of my life. Granted I was only part of a couple for 25, not 115 years. Yikes! What a thought.
best always, Dana,
