Below is an excerpt from the findings of my Venus research (more info about that here):
The best lover I ever had treated me like a queen. He was so tender and loved to make ME happy. He spoiled me with little gifts, talked with me for hours. He understood that my body wants to be appreciated all over. –RN
The best compliment I’ve received from a lover? That she enjoys me. –SF
My goddesses are my angels. I see them. I feel their energies. I hear them speak to me and their words transform me–they soothe me, inspire me, comfort me, and sometimes gently admonish me, but always they support me and encourage me. –AC
Who wants to be treated like a queen and appreciated all over? Your Venus in Leo of course. She’s here to embody and explore the playful aspect of the Divine Feminine, but also the confidence and competence. She has a good witch Glenda personality… warm, sunny, golden, radiant. Your Venus energy says “I want to be in charge,” but in a warm and friendly way. Your Venus wants to be in command, but not in control. She’s usually more of a “Let’s have fun” kind of queen, than she is a “Do as I say” dictator.
Angels, celebrations and applause
Angel imagery came up a lot with your Venus sisters and brothers. One Venus Leo’s feminine ideal was Oprah Winfrey:
She stands for everything I think a woman should be. She is not passive or timid or unnaturally self-deprecating. She is an angel walking this earth. She isn’t the kind of woman who thinks she has to be who everyone else expects her to be. She is who she expects herself to be. She’s fond of saying to her audience: “I am filled up with myself.” And she makes no apologies to anybody for her power and strength.
The secret to keeping your Venus happy is a daily dose of appreciation… and this isn’t just about getting your own applause. When you applaud other people, you run the same kind of juice. It’s just as nourishing.
Your Venus might also need a daily habit of rejoicing. If she starts feeling cranky about not being seen, she’s probably forgotten that.
She likes a good party. She loves to perform. Her warmth is radiant. It likely feels good to be around her. Pride can do her in.
The raw energies inside your Leo Venus
When astrology was a sacred practice, it was understood that life itself, our very bodies, were infused with the divine. The first astrologers knew the Gods as the powerful, vibrant and creative play of emotions running through their world. The gods appeared as sandstorms, thunder claps, bird song, floods, abundant harvests, calamities, shouts of sorrow and joy.
Gods are immortal which means we can still find them as the ancients did. Astrology can help. Signs point us to the raw energies that define each sign–the underlying element and mode. The element describes the dominant energy your Venus runs. This is her fuel. The mode describes her preferred speed. Together they suggest the sensory coordinates to use when dialing in your Venus.
Fire
Leo is a fire sign. Fire is wild, energetic, illuminating, radiant, hot. Use your imagination to make these sensations more vivid. Imagination is the control panel that takes us into the invisible world. Think of a campfire. Wild flames dancing. Feel their warmth. Sense their love of freedom. Hear their passion. Bring your hands closer. Feel the heat. The burning joy. Can you sense the fire in the following thoughts, which are typical of planets in fire signs?
I like to be adventurous.
I like feeling energized.
It feels right to have faith in myself.
I like to commit quickly. I can burn out quickly too.
Earth smothers me. I hate routine and practicality.
Air–the brilliant gust of a good idea–can keep me radiant and inspired.
I like to be the hero. I’ll run you down if you’re in my way.
I’d rather hang out with positive, uplifting people like me.
I don’t know why, but some people think I’m selfish, insensitive and lacking self control.
Fixed
This is the rhythm section–the bass line in your Venus song. With fixed signs, the tempo is steady and sure. Fixed signs are strong, stabilizing, penetrating, immovable. It is nourished by routines. Find your Venus in energy that burns steady and bright.
My first answer to anything is usually “no.”
I have enormous energy reserves.
You have no idea how pressured I sometimes feel.
I’ve found that if you wait long enough, most problems solve themselves.
I typically learn the hard way.
I may hold on too long to what’s not good for me.
I may let go too quickly of something new that might be better.
You can count on me. I won’t give up.
