Below is an excerpt from the findings of my Venus research (more info about that here):
Venus in Taurus likes to be fed. Eating in a relaxed setting puts me in a love-making mood. I heard that Venus in Sagittarius women feel more in the mood if you’ve made them laugh. Not me. I don’t laugh easily, but I smile a lot. Being in a beautiful setting helps, being near water, the ocean or a mountain lake. I do love freshly washed sheets.–AT
I don’t like quickies. I’m slowly warmed up. Sex is an experience I want to have with all five senses fully engaged. –MK
What would the perfect lover need to know about my body? Nothing in particular. It’s not rocket science. He just needs to enjoy and worship it. –KS
Your Venus wants to explore and embody deep peace, like what you’d find in a hidden valley of clover and wildflowers on a gently sunny day. She wants equanimity. Contentment. She wants to stretch out and savor the delights of this world. She enjoys the sensuous experience of having a body. This is a comfortable Venus. She rules Taurus. She’s at home here.
I like things calm, steady and safe
Yet underneath sometimes, there’s this anxiety. It could all be snatched away at any minute. If scarcity gets the upper hand, your Venus can become a little greedy or possessive. Sometimes contentment can lead to immobility and your Venus can get trapped. Like a sun sign Taurus, she’s generally more comfortable with what already is, than she is with instigating change.
People with Venus-in-Taurus weren’t particularly interested in answering my questionnaire. In fact, the two signs that I heard from the least were Venus in Taurus and Venus in Libra, the very signs that Venus rules.
What does this mean? Perhaps it’s explained by the three signs I heard from the most–Aries, Scorpio and Virgo, who are (not coincidentally) the three signs in which Venus is in detriment and fall. Astrology books usually have nothing but wonderful things to say about Venus in Taurus and Libra, so maybe your Venus-in-Taurus brothers and sisters just have nothing to complain about.
It’s not always wine and roses
Except, there were a few…
I don’t feel like the “very sexual woman” one of my astrologer friends once informed me that I was.
I haven’t had the long term relationships that are supposed to come with this placement.
How come my Venus hasn’t made me rich?
Astrology doesn’t tell us what will happen to us. Having Venus in Taurus doesn’t guarantee anything. Life is a collaboration between divine archetypes, karma, and choices. There’s the creativity of the gods. And the creativity of our own free will. Having a Venus in a particular sign suggests your style of living, loving, and playing. Knowing your Venus sign helps to validate your inner whispers. Good astrology helps you to be more confidently who you are.
Having Venus in Taurus won’t guarantee wealth or everlasting love. But it does bless you with a rare and wonderful gift–the capacity to enjoy simple pleasures. Isn’t that what everyone is chasing after? Yet you don’t have to run all over the world. Hiking in the woods, eating good foods, playing, singing, loving, creating—this is how a Venus in Taurus grows her own wealth. When you let yourself slow down and listen, you can enter the most exquisite relationship with the physical world, a simple abundance that many of the other Venus signs would envy.
The raw energies inside your Taurus Venus
When astrology was a sacred practice, it was understood that life itself, our very bodies, were infused with the divine. The first astrologers knew the Gods as the powerful, vibrant and creative play of emotions running through their world. The gods appeared as sandstorms, thunder claps, bird song, floods, abundant harvests, calamities, shouts of sorrow and joy.
Gods are immortal which means we can still find them as the ancients did. Astrology can help. Signs point us to the raw energies that define each sign–its underlying element and mode. the element describes the dominant energy your Venus likes to run. This is her fuel. The mode describes her preferred speed. Together they suggest the sensory coordinates to use when dialing in your Venus.
Earth
Taurus is an earth sign. It’s cool, dense, solid, heavy, abiding. Go there–use your imagination to make these sensations more vivid. Imagination is the control panel that takes us into the invisible world. Imagine planting your feet in the soil, cool, rich and welcoming. Earth has a stable, peaceful energy. This is the powerful body of Gaia. Can you sense it? Is earth fast or slow? Can the wind pick it up and move it? What’s the mood of earth? Is it loving? Is it impatient? Earth planet voices can sound like this:
I work hard so I can enjoy all the good things in life.
I know how to build and make things grow.
I can muster great strength when I need to–especially when my back is against the wall.
Other people say I have trouble letting go.
I thrive in predictable, organized spaces.
People say I’m immovable. This works for trees!
Being so grounded, I can forget to use my imagination.
When I’m not being productive, I’m not my best self.
I’m extraordinarily dependable.
Fixed
This is the rhythm section–the bass line in your Venus song. With fixed signs, the tempo is steady and sure. Fixed signs are stabilizing, penetrating, immovable. They have tremendous endurance and are nourished by routines. Find your Venus in energy that’s predictable, committed, stubborn, resistant to change.
My first answer to anything is usually “no.”
I have enormous energy reserves.
You have no idea how pressured I sometimes feel.
I’ve found that if you wait long enough, most problems solve themselves.
I typically learn the hard way.
I may hold on too long to what’s not good for me.
I may let go too quickly of something new that might be better.
You can count on me. I won’t give up.

Great article. Being a Gemini with a Venus in Taurus I certainly do feel the beautiful difference this Venus placement gives you and doesn’t.
